Anya was the kind of person who would lift others in their time of need, never once letting on she was going through tough times herself. Her selfless and unconditional love for others is what people grew to love about her. Anya was a true testament of what a friend should be. During her 18 month journey with Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer, Anya showed what it meant to keep pushing on through tough times. Laughing with her brother and friends and enjoying her favorite things in life, eating, listening to music, and hanging with friends. Anya’s true passion in life was her photography work, she loved taking pictures of scenery and friends and often talked about becoming a fashion photographer for Vogue Italia magazine. Anya was only 15 at the time of her diagnosis but you would never know, her heart was that of an old soul just like her father Scott “The Pink Cat” Walker. Anya was only a sophomore in high school at the time of diagnosis and never got to finish her high school years as she passed away during what would have been her junior year. Anya left behind her mother and older brother to join her father in spirit on February 23, 2019, at the young age of 16.
What is Operation Dino?
Operation Dino was started by Anya’s mom, Rose. Remembering how Anya always had her stuffed dinosaur “Dino” with her on every hospital stay and every surgery. The idea was brought to life to gift stuffed dinosaurs to children going through cancer treatments, Honoring Anya.
